A 5µ granular activated carbon filter candle supporting this filtration, is included for the filtration in the 2nd stage. The 1st stage is supplied with a 5µ 10" Sediment Filter Cartridge that filters the input water to a sediment thickness of 0,0005 millimeter (5µ) and removes reliably bacteria, germs, spores and viruses.Of course, the used 10 inches (254 mm) filter inserts can be removed and, according to demand, be replaced by other materials.A complete list of all matching filter inserts are found in the technical data. Sediment, ceramic and activated carbon filter are not washable and are to be changed approximately every 6 months. (DIN 1988) In order to guarantee a constant filtering efficiency of this filter candle, the period of time should not exceed 8000 liters (depending on the quality of the input water ).This system neither contains any RO membranes (reverse osmosis) nor a ion exchanger. This means the natural content of minerals (which is essential) remains intact to a large extent and the water hardness is influenced only in a small degree.
