The eggs do not need to be turned by hand with this model, as the incubator automatically tilts them. In frequent durations, the eggs are tilted back and forth along their longitudinal axis. This movement simulates the natural turning motion of the hen, disabling the chicks from getting stuck to the embryonic membrane and thus dying. This is why turning the eggs is essential for a successful hatching process, 3 – 4 days before the chicks hatch, the automatic tilting process needs to be switched off, as the eggs are no longer allowed to be tilted to enable an easier hatching for the chicks. During the breeding period, operations such as the period of incubation, the temperature, turning of the eggs as well as an alarm which indicates any deviation from the desired temperature, are controlled by the incubator itself.
